Ogunjimi was born on 12 October 1987 in Mechelen. Marvin has Nigerian roots.
He has made debut in professional football in 2005/06 season, appearing for Genk. In 2007 he was loaned by Dutch side Waalvijk, where did well, having scored 10 goals in 27 appearances. After returning to Genk, he became a first-team player and helped the team to win the league in 2011.
In summer of that year his transfer to Spanish Mallorca has broken down. As it was reported by Belgian journalists, FIFA cancelled the move due to registration papers in a new club were received seven minutes after the deadline.
On 14 November 2011 Mallorca finally signed Ogunjimi, but the very next year he returned to Belgium to Standard Liege on loan. Two years later, in 2014, Marvin discovered America for himself and became a player of New England Revolution for 6 months.
On 6 June 2014 Ogunjimi moved to Norwegian Stromsgodset. That was a complete transfer, and Mallorca received compensation for him. The debut in a new club happened on 16 July in the second qualification round of the Champions League against Steaua. On 2 August Marvin scored in first home game, when Stromsgodset played a draw against Sogndal.
In the next three games he scored thrice, after which he suffered a 11-games goal draught. In general, the Norwegian period of career was quite positive for Ogunjimi. He scored 10 goals in 23 games, but a serious injury spoiled everything. In the game of second qualification round of Europa League he torn ligaments in left knee and missed the rest of 2015.
In February 2016 Ogunjimi signed a contract with Korean Suwon, but in half a year moved on loan to Ratchaburi from Thailand. After returning, his contract with Korean side was mutually terminated, and Suwon relegated from the K League.
Ogunjimi started season-2017 in Albanian Skenderbeu, continued in Kazakh Okzhetpes, and ended in Maastricht from Holland. The last appearance after move to Brest Marvin made on 5 February 2018 after PSV Eindhoven’s second team.
On 8 October 2010 Ogunjimi made debut for Belgian National Team in an away game against Kazakhstan. Having appeared in the second half, he scored twice and brought victory to his team. Four days later in a game against Austria, the forward scored on the 87th minute, equaled the score 3:3, but in the injury time the teams exchanged with goals, and the final score was 4:4. In total, Ogunjimi made 7 appearances for Belgium, and scored 5 goals. Also he has been called up to U19 and U21 teams.
