The Dickson’s story in Dynamo Brest developed so rapidly, that some could lose the moment, when the forward stopped being “another foreign player” and stared to be treated as a potential star.
Dickson Afoakwa was born in the second biggest Ghanaian city Kumasi and until last May played for local Cornerstones FC from Division One League. During summer transfer window, scouts of Dynamo noticed the player and he moved to the team very soon.
For the first time Dickson played for Reserves’ team, where he tried to adjust himself to local football, and after the adaptation period was over, moved to the first squad. Afoakwa scored two times in 9 games for Dynamo (one of them – the winning one in the Cup quarterfinal against Naftan) and also made 2 assists.
The results of the Ghanaian haven’t been left unnoticed, and, during one of international pauses, the forward went on trial with Spartak Moscow, where he managed to impress the coaching staff, having scored twice in a friendly against Red-White youth team.
The trial didn’t end with contract signature, and this was a good piece of news for supporters from Brest. The yesterday’s newcomer has a great potential.
Dickson himself is firmly resolute to hit the stars in 2017: “I am, as well as my teammates, have high expectations from the forthcoming season. I arrived to the club during last season and always did my best on the pitch. In future I will put all efforts to play even better”.
